Facial Liposuction

The process of removal of fat using surgery is called liposuction. This process remove fat from the person by using a suction pump. The benefit of liposuction is that the result is pretty immediate and the procedure can be done on an outpatient basis. There is no need for postoperative rest taken by the person who has undergone liposuction. Liposuction is commonly done to remove the fat at the abdomen, thigh, and buttock areas. Facial liposuction is one of the sought after procedures in the modern times for the removal of fat in the areas of chin, cheeks, and neck.

Liposuction is a minimally invasive surgery, as the surgery in done by putting in a small tube into the area through small incision. Through this small tube which is known as cannula, the surgeon sucks out the fat. To be suitable for this procedure, a person should be in generally good health. The skin at the larger deposites of fat should be elastic for this procedure to be successesful. Like any other surgery, before giving informed consent, the person who is undergoing liposuction will be discussed with by the surgeon about the risks and benefits of the surgeon. The possible risks of this procedure include blood clots, asymmetry, lumpiness, as well as loss of sensation.
